Key Insight
Most styling apps focus on organization instead of decision-making. Current solutions rely on wardrobe management, item categorization, flat-lay outfit generation, and endless inspiration browsing. These experiences create four core issues: AI outfits often feel unrealistic, flat-lay visuals lack emotional connection, too many options increase decision fatigue, and manual wardrobe setup creates friction.
People don’t choose outfits logically. They choose how they want to feel.
Fashion decisions are emotional before they are functional. Users are not looking for a closet management tool, an outfit database, or an AI chatbot. They are looking for reassurance, confidence, a fast decision, and a version of themselves they want to become that day.
Design Goal
Design an AI styling experience that reduces morning decision fatigue, delivers complete wearable looks instantly, feels emotionally aligned with the user, and minimizes effort and cognitive load.
The Solution
VIBE is a swipe-based AI stylist focused on fast outfit decisions. Instead of presenting endless content, the app delivers three curated looks per day, vibe-driven recommendations, full-body visual styling, lightweight personalization, and AI-powered remixing.

Users are not required to upload clothing, configure preferences, interact with AI chat, or browse large feeds. The app immediately presents complete styled looks optimized for weather, occasion, emotional vibe, and visual consistency.
AI Trust
Designing AI that doesn’t get it wrong
One of the biggest challenges in AI styling is trust. Most AI-generated outfits fail because they combine conflicting aesthetics, ignore silhouette balance, or prioritize novelty over wearability. Instead of unrestricted generation, VIBE uses a layered aesthetic guardrail system.
1. Style Cohesion
Each look belongs to a clearly defined style bucket such as effortless, polished, playful, or relaxed. This prevents incompatible combinations.
2. Compatibility Rules
The system applies constraints around silhouette balance, color harmony, weather appropriateness, and occasion fit.
3. Aesthetic Filtering
Multiple outfit variations are generated internally, ranked by visual consistency, and only the strongest looks are surfaced.
Designing for cold start users
New users often abandon AI products because they are asked for too much information before receiving value. VIBE reverses this pattern with instant recommendations, zero-input onboarding, curated high-quality looks, and lightweight contextual personalization. The goal is to create immediate trust before requesting any user data.
Outcome
VIBE transforms outfit selection from overwhelming, time-consuming, and uncertain into an experience that feels fast, emotionally aligned, and visually reassuring. Rather than building another wardrobe app, the project explores how AI can reduce decision fatigue through focused interaction design.
